<p>Now that spring seems to finally be back in our lives, many people are concerned about losing those few extra pounds of chub which stand between them and a sculpted midriff. Those folks who let themselves go a little in the winter months may be working overtime now that it is April and thoughts of bikinis are dancing in their heads. The good news is that there are, of course, abdominal exercises to speed along the process. Some are better than others, including these few, which are good specifically for trimming belly fat. As with any workout routine, be sure to consult a professional before beginning and always warm up properly to avoid injury.</p>
<p>Hip Lift</p>
<p>For this abdominal exercise, you will need to lie on your back on a flat surface, such as the floor. Use a mat or towel to cushion your spine. Put your arms at your sides with palms facing up to the ceiling. Put your legs straight up in the air so that the soles of your feet are facing the ceiling and your legs make about a ninety degree angle with your torso. Keep your knees unbent and as straight as possible. Now, contract your ab muscles so that it feels like your belly button is being pulled toward your spine, while at the same time gently lifting your hips off the floor. Raise your hips to height of a few inches, keeping your legs extended straight upward. Hold this position, then slowly lower your hips back to the floor. Repeat for an entire set.</p>
<p>Seated Torso Twist</p>
<p>Stay on the floor for this abdominal exercise, getting into a seated position. Bend your knees so that your feet are flat on the floor. Position your feet about hip width apart. Extend your arms straight out in front of you, interlocking your fingers. Contract your abdominals and lean back about forty-five degrees. Holding the contraction, rotate your torso as far to one side as you are comfortably able. Use your abdominals to control this motion so that your upper body moves at once, do not lead with your arms. Remember to keep your arms in from of you with fingers locked&#8211; pretend you are aiming an imaginary gun. Once you have rotated as far as you feel comfortable, rotate back to center, then to the other side. Repeat these steps for an entire set. Take care to go slow and keep a controlled movement. Do not allow your momentum to twist you.</p>

For a moment you will be in a push up position and jump back up again as fast as possible. 3. Repeat for the required repetitions</p>
<p><u><strong>Hamstring Curl 3 sets of 15 reps</strong></u> 1) Assume back lying position on floor. Place hands at sides with palms down on floor. 2) Start position: Place heels of both feet on top of stability ball. Raise hips off floor. 3) Curl heels toward glutes by flexing at the knee. Hips should remain off floor. 4) Return to start position. 5) Remember to maintain stability of ball by utilizing muscles in the trunk and core. To increase difficulty, cross arms hands over chest to take away base of support.</p>
<p><strong><u>Plank 2 sets of 45 seconds</u></strong> 1. Start by placing your forearms on the ground and forming a plank with your forearms and feet. 2. Hold this position keeping your body parallel to the ground for the required time.</p>
<p><u><strong>Side Plank 2 sets of 45 seconds</strong></u> 1. Lay on the ground on one side. Raise your body using one forearm and support it in this raised position for the required time. 2. Lower your body and repeat on the other side. 3. Remember to keep your head, neck and body in a straight line.</p>

<p>All you need is an exercise that burns fat while you work out,, kicks up your metabolism after your workouts and targets the jelly belly area.  And guess what?   Traditional cardio in the &#8220;fat-burning zone&#8221; is NOT the answer.</p>
<p>Research has shown that the best technique for achieving these three goals is to include heightened intensity (HI) exercise in your routine.   HI training involves taking you out of your comfort zone and raising the intensity of your workouts.  Sprinting, interval sprinting and plyometric exercises meet the definition of HI training.</p>
<p>But, intensity in your training is relative.</p>
<p>&#8220;Sprinting&#8221; is not the same speed for everyone.</p>
<p>For example, if you currently walk, walking faster raises the intensity of your workout.</p>
<p>If you jog, then striding at a faster pace is high intensity.</p>
<p>(Another great way to add intensity to whatever you already do is to move your exercise onto hills or stairs).</p>
<p>Intense exercise will burn fat while you work out and raise your metabolism so that you continue to burn fat long after your workout is over.</p>
<p>Sooner than you think, you&#8217;ll be able to see your abs like you haven&#8217;t in a long time.</p>
<p>Besides burning fat covering them, you&#8217;ll also want to build the muscles in your abs and core.  Crunches will do this to some extent.</p>
<p>But, since that exercise isolates your abdominal muscles, it does almost nothing for the rest of your core. Better to find an exercise that works all of those muscles in unison &#8211; making them work in synergy with one another.</p>
<p>One of the best ways to meet this goal is to use the same exercise used to beat back belly fat.  HI sprint-type training (especially on hills and stairs) will work your midsection like nothing else.</p>
<p>This is because when you run fast (and sprint correctly), the muscles in your core work to raise your legs on each stride.  Your abs and obliques also work to keep your trunk upright and stable &#8211; not twisting from side to side.</p>
<p>(This functional strength is also a big protector against back problems&#8230;)</p>
<p>All this leads to exceptional development of your abs, hip flexors and core (don&#8217;t believe me &#8211; look at world class sprinters.  There&#8217;s a reason they&#8217;re never afraid to take their shirts off).</p>
<p>With summer just around the corner, there&#8217;s no better time than now to start focusing on your lean, flat sexy stomach.  If you&#8217;re doing crunches, there&#8217;s nothing wrong with continuing.  But, if you want maximum results, be sure to include some HI sprint training in your program.</p>
<p>You&#8217;ll be ready for the beach and the pool in no time flat.</p>

<p>Everybody wants to have a flat stomach and look good during the summer season when minimum clothes are required. Learn five essential exercises that you need to do at least four times a week for a beautiful and toned tummy.</p>
<p>Crunches </p>
<p>Stomach crunches have always been popular and effective type of abs exercises. To do a crunch you have to lay on the back, have your feet flat on the floor and ask somebody to hold them. Put your arms behind the head or on your chest, raise your upper body off the floor tightening your abs, hold for about one second and lay down. Inspire while lying down, exhale while lifting up. </p>
<p>You can use some free weight on your chest to make the exercise harder. Also it is recommended to make side lifts to strengthen side abs muscles. </p>
<p>Leg lifts </p>
<p>To do a leg lift you have to lay down on the floor with arms at your sides. Lift slightly bent or straight legs up to about 90 degree angle and after a few seconds lower down ensuring you do not touch the ground with your feet, feel how your lower abs muscles work. Inspire while lying legs down, exhale while lifting up. </p>
<p>You can hold a free weight between your feet to make the exercise harder. Also you can also do this exercise hanging on the sport wall. Remember to ensure your muscles are loaded through all the exercise. </p>
<p>Crosses</p>
<p>To do a cross you have to lay down on the floor, put your arms behind the head, raising it together with your shoulders. Lift the right knee to the chest and straight left leg up to about 45 degree angle. Inspire and turn the upper body to the right in order to touch the right knee with the left elbow, hold in this position for three seconds. Repeat the exercise with the other leg.  </p>
<p>Scissors</p>
<p>To do scissors stretch both legs, lift head and shoulders. Then lift the left leg up to about 90 degree angle grabbing your shin with your both hands. Lift the right leg up about 15 centimeters off the floor. Exhale and change the legs. </p>
<p>Body and leg lifts </p>
<p>To do this exercise you have to lay flat on your stomach with legs straight and arms extended above your head. Lift your body up with hands clasped together. Hold this position for as long as you can stand it and lower down. </p>
<p>Repeat all the exercises for twenty times four times a week for a great look and feel.</p>
<p>Also remember that also you have to select stomach exercises you will be really willing to complete and stick with to benefit from it. Bear in mind that your tummy will look tighter and you will look better if you combine exercising with overall weight loss plan as you will not be able to reduce fat only on the one part of your body just by exercising.</p>

<p>In order to lose weight quickly you need to eat around 1200-1500 calories each day, but no less than 1200. On the first day that you begin to count calories, you&#8217;ll find out how many you eat every day. On the second day, reduce your calorie intake by 500 per day until you reach 1500.</p>
<p>2. You need to keep track of your calories. If you don&#8217;t you will not start to lose weight and will not be able to keep it off. As soon as you start to cut your calories you should begin a weight training program. Cardio is also good, but weight training is important because muscle burns calories.</p>
<p>As part of the weight training you need to add ab work outs, in order to target lower stomach fat and muscle. You need to hit your abs hard and do a lot of reps from different angles. Super setting is a good way to go. This means that you perform alternate ab exercises with no rest between your sets for at least 15 minutes.</p>
<p>3. It&#8217;s weight training that takes it off, particularly working your legs. <p>More about the abs. When your lower stomach requires extra work you need to spend more time targeting the area. You can do this by doing leg raises, windmills, ab pull ups, vacuum pose and reverse crunches as well as obliques which are more commonly known as love handles.</p>
<p>5. Your ab program should go as below in a super set with no rest between your sets. Once you finish this routine, you need to repeat it for 15 minutes. If you are a beginner then you need to build reps, sets and intensity.</p>
<p>** 20 oblique twists<br />** 50 bicycle abs and 50 leg raises<br />** 5 vacuum poses hold for 15 seconds<br />** 50 reverse crunches and 50 windmills</p>
