It has been scientifically proven that individuals who are chronically under stress are more likely to have excess stomach fat and can never lose belly fat.  Is this because stressed out people tend to stress eat? 

Well this may be the case for a percentage of these individuals.  After all, stress eaters typically binge on sugar-laden junk foods during periods of stress, which of course would cause unwanted fat gain. 

This would make clear the link between being persistently stressed and having extra body fat in a broad sense.  The conversation would end here but we know that even stressed out individuals who are basically lean still have a tendency to carry an unbalanced amount of abdominal fat compared to other areas on their body.

So, if you are stressed out, why does the bulk of the fat you gain find its new home right on your stomach?  Recent studies have found an answer to this question.

Researchers have found a strong correlation between high cortisol levels and increased stomach fat.  For those of you who don't know, cortisol is a stress hormone that is produced by the adrenals and is released in the body in response to stress.

So how does cortisol have this negative effect?

Well, due to its negative effect on insulin and blood sugar metabolism, it promotes massive sugar cravings.

But perhaps even more damaging than that, cortisol can significantly decrease the natural increase in your metabolic rate that normally occurs after eating a meal.  This leads to burning fewer total calories per day thus making you predisposed to gain more body fat.

But it gets even worse.

Cortisol also burns up lean muscle tissue.  Since lean muscle tissue is responsible for the speed of your metabolic rate, breaking muscle down makes losing belly fat nearly impossible. 

This explains why a person with high levels of cortisol would hold more fat in general.  But what is the specific connection with cortisol and BELLY fat? 

Well, abdominal fat has just about five times more cortisol receptors than body fat from anywhere else in the body.  Therefore, the higher your cortisol levels are, the more your body will need more receptors, thus prompting it to store more abdominal fat.

It is also speculated that once cortisol has bound itself to the receptors found on abdominal fat, it prevents that fat from releasing fatty acids to be burned as fuel, even during a fat burning workout. 

In other words, the fat that lands on your stomach is "stubborn", and doesn't want to leave.  It has a vested interest in keeping your stomach nice and plump! 

Alright, I hope that you are now convinced that keeping your cortisol levels in check is a big part of any successful fat loss program.  But how do we do that? 

Well, most supplement companies sell cortisol blockers.  The primary ingredient in these formulas is phosphatidylserine.  The bad news (and don't hold your breath waiting for these companies to admit it) is that these formulas do NOT work.  They are a total waste of your money so stay away from them.

The good news is that there are some simple things you can do to keep your cortisol at a level that won't cause any problems.  Here are some very valuable strategies:

1) Reduce stress (or at least don't sweat the small stuff) - I know that this is easier said than done.  But any attempt to deal with life's situations in a calm manner will make a difference.

2) Reduce alcohol use- Drinking booze will increase cortisol levels at a fast rate.  Can anyone say, "beer belly"?

3) Limit caffeine use- I know, I know...First no booze, and now no coffee!?!?  Look, I'm sorry to be the fun police, but you will need to ditch that latte if you are serious about losing belly fat.

4) Eat small meals throughout the day- Eating one or two big meals per day puts unnecessary stress on the body.  This too leads to increases in cortisol.

5) Lighten up! - Most people don't realize that laughter is one of the best remedies to lower your cortisol levels profoundly.  So laugh a little!

6) Don't overtrain- Yes, the very training you are doing to burn belly fat can actually be encouraging your body to store it.  Too much of a good thing is NOT a good thing!

So there you have it.  In addition to a a properly designed nutritional and training protocol, integrate these techniques and make losing belly fat easier than you ever thought was possible!

Lower Belly Fat - How to Lose Lower Belly Fat With 10 Minutes Workout

Begin to perform a Jump Rope for the first two minutes of burning routine. You can perform by jumping twice on every turn of the rope. Using the correct size rope and always keeping your feet landed softly by the ball (the upper part of the bottom of your foot) can make you safety. Always keep thinking I am losing lower belly fat all the time when performing entire workout routine during 10 minutes.

In minutes 2 to 3, you will need to perform Squat Thrust into a Push Up. To perform this exercise, you must stand with your feet shoulder width separated and your arms narrow down next to your sides. Gently crouch with your head onward and move your hands on the ground just outside of your feet. Your hands will need to be pointing ahead as easily. Then on each movement, drive your legs backwards and away behind you (into a push up position). Perform one rigorous pushup and then hop back into squat position and stand up.

In minutes 3 to 4, you should do Jump Rope, but just one jump for each turn of rope.

In minutes 4 to 5, you need to perform Back to the Squat Thrust and this time you will put the Side Plank only when you Push Up. After you complete them, you will need to raise and turn your left arm out of the floor and above your head. Your left foot will then rotate and place above of your right foot. And you will turn your neck as if you look up at a ceiling. Turn backward to the center position and repeat this exercise on other side. When completed, skip back to your squat position, stand up and begin again.

In minutes 5 to 6, you perform Jump Rope, the same one as minutes 3 to 4.

In minutes 6 and 7, you will need to return to Squat Thrust and Push Up. But this time you will add the Leg Lift. You will need to raise the toes up of one foot about twelve inches out of the floor just after you have completed your push up. Slowly drop your foot and do it again on the opposite side. When finished, skip back to your squat position, stand up and begin again.

In minutes 7 to 8, you perform Jump Rope, the same exercise as minutes 3 and 4.

In minutes 8 and 9, you will need to return to Squat Thrust and Push Up. But this time you will add the Mountain Climbers. Repeat all the things as in minutes 2 and 3. But for this time, when you finished push up, you need to swiftly jog in place of your push up position. Make sure you move your knees close to your chest for each turning. Perform 5 jogs then repeat this whole process.

In minutes 9 and 10, you have to perform Jump Rope, the same as the first two minutes. Keep thinking, if I do this exercise every single day, I will lose my lower belly fat successfully.

Recommend: Always using a soft padding (like a yoga mat for example) when doing an exercise will decrease a risk of any injury and save those knees joints for you.

This entire workout really works great when you perform correctly by following the instruction given in this article. Your lower belly fat will be gone and gradually become muscle instead in a matter of months.

How to Lose Inches Off Your Waist Fast

1. Cardio HIIT

If you're going to do cardio, you need to do high intensity interval training (HIIT) cardio. This is different than steady-state cardio because with HIIT, you vary your intensity levels. You'll go faster and harder for short 10-12 second bursts and follow those up with 18-20 seconds of slower and easier intervals.

You can definitely adjust those interval times too since each person is at a different level. If that's too hard for you at this point, either increase the time for slower intervals and or lower the time for the harder intervals.

Eventually, you'll begin to adjust the intervals so more and more of the time is you doing high intensity intervals.

You can do this with basically any cardio exercise. Running, jogging, stairstepper, elliptical, etc. I prefer you do each "set" for 6 minutes so that you can stop for 2 minutes to drink some water and stay relatively fresh.

Doing it this way will allow you to easily do 4-5 sets of 6 minutes.

2. The best "disappearing belly" exercise you can do is the isometric vacuum pose

If you want to lose 2-3 inches in LESS THAN a month, do this exercise for 5-10 minutes a day. So what is it? It's sucking in your belly. But the key is to focus on your belly button. Suck that in and focus your attention on it getting sucked in.

To get the most out of this exercise, I suggest you hold each isometric vacuum pose for at least 10 seconds. However... longer is better. Either way, just be sure you get 5 full minutes of this each day. And no, rest times between each "pose" don't count as part of the 5 minutes.

3. Just walk

Now 2 things with walking. I prefer you walk on some sort of incline to make walking more intense (better for fat loss). So walk uphill. Find a hill or a treadmill that inclines. Next, to burn up to 30% more calories during your walks, take 1 deep breath every 45-60 seconds.

Simple enough. The added oxygen you breathe in from the deep breaths helps to OXIDIZE fat cells... thus burning them off quicker. So over a 20 minute walk, you should get in 20-30 deep breaths.

Follow these 3 simple things and you will shrink belly fat and lose inches off your waist fast.
